Senior Report 16/8/14

Tulla 13.10-88 defeated Glenroy 13.3-81

In our last Home and Away game we travelled to Sewell reserve to resume hostilities with our old enemy Glenroy. A blistering first quarter saw Tulla continuing on from last weeks great performance against Westy and we lead 7 goals to 2 with Mangan kicking 3. A terrific second quarter from Glenroy and a failure in our setups and structures saw our lead whittled to a goal at the main break. The 3rd quarter was a real arm wrestle but Becks and Harey were trying hard in the middle. Louie had tightened up on Campbell but the big factor was Brocky who moved onto Dulic and did a great job quelling the Roys captain. Tulla lead by 15 at the break. Glenroy continued to come in the last quarter and Mango and Vernon were always a threat for Tulla, but missed opportunities were costing the Demons. Finally the siren rang ending the season with Tulla 7 points in front. Goalkickers were Mango 5 and verno and Becks 2. Best players were Becks, Brocky, Steeley, Barto, Hammer and Books. Next Saturday the real stuff starts when we venture to Windy Hill to take on West Coburg for a spot in the "Big Dance". Hopefully we can get lots of supporters down there to cheer the boys on. Congrats to Jk and Mango who tied for the competition leading goalkicker with 51 sausage rolls each.

Under 10 Report 17/8/14     2014 Premiers

Firstly I'd like to congratulate the Tullamarine u10s for winning the Grand Final and for staying committed and focused through out the season. Tullamarine finished on top of the ladder and we're clearly the best team for the season, but that doesn't guarantee a Grand Final. That is what Great Teams that play for each other, their team mates achieve.
The GF was played at Keilor under perfect conditions. Oak Park was our opponent, they had beaten us earlier in the season and inflicted our first loss, so they were confident. After running through a massive banner the team seemed excited and confident and it showed. The first half saw Tullamarine dominating play, kicking 5.7 to no score, with the ball rarely seen in Oak Parks forward line. Our midfielders were dominating led by co captains Carlos Egan and Aussie warden, with Joquin Bugeja also prolific. When in our forward line Patty Flatman seemed to have the ball on a string, giving plenty of supply to our No 1 goal sneak Freddy the candy man Mitri ( sold so much candy he should own a candy shop ) who kicked 3 majors. The second half turned into a real fight with Tullamarines back line led by Bailey the vice Bateson and Shannon the battering Ram Prigg withstanding some real pressure from Oak Park who seemed to gathering some momentum. Oak Park kicking 3 goals late in the final term to give the coaches a bit of a scare. Congrats to Carlos Egan for being voted best on in the GF. I'd like to thank the Parents, extended family, friends and Tullamarine seniors for supporting the boys and making the day very special and unforgettable for the team. Go Tulla!!!!!!
