Rd 4: Tulla 13.7-85 v Glenroy 8.18-58 Senior Report Match summary (pdf)

Reserves Report

Rd 4 Tulla 8.8-56  v Glenroy 14.9-93

A very disappointing game for us , We had our best side in for the year and came to the ground expecting a solid performance and a win.  We started well with the wind, and ran the ball into our forward line 14 time, but for only 3 goals 6. We missed so many easy shots on goal.  Keep in mind we lost Jake Hardman with a broken leg, so down to 3 on the bench.

Second quarter, Glenroy really pumped the ball into their forward line ,kicking 7 goal 3.  Right then and there was the difference in the game, they utilised the wind well. We did run the ball up and kicked a great goal to stay in the match.  We battled hard again with great commitment to the ball and the man.

3rd term was a battle, we kicked a few solid goals, but Glenroy answered well, we came within 2 points of them late in the 3rd,but trailed at 3 quarter time by a couple of goals.

Last quarter Glenroy put their foot down and ran away with the game, their clean skills and late run was again the difference between us and them.  Finally losing by 6 goals.

Best players for us were, Adjin Furzulla ,just hard at the ball and never gives up.  Luke Hearnden and Mark Jennings both were solid, and Howes was instrumental in the first half with his smarts and hardness. Jon Brens also a solid man down back.

3 weeks in a row that commitment and toughness is not at question, but certainly skills and fitness is. Lots of work ahead of us, and now the season in trouble with 3 solid losses

Rd 4 Under 12 Report, Tulla 7.4-46 v Maribyrnong 6.2-38

Tullamarine travelled to Maribyrnong Park to decide who would end up clear on top of the ladder. Both teams were so far undefeated, it promised to be a cracking game of football and it did not disappoint with a different team leading at the end of each quarter. The first quarter saw Maribyrnong kick 2 quick goals before Tullamarine woke up and responded with 2 goals against the flow of play. During the second quarter Tullamarines backline held firm to keep Maribyrnong scoreless while kicking a goal to take the lead at halftime. Our 3rd quarter saw us waste our hard fought opportunities kicking only 4 points while Marby made the most of theirs to take the lead back coming into the last. I asked for a big effort from the team and they delivered kicking 4 goals to 2 in the last to win. Congratulations on a great team effort and I'm so proud of the boys and what they can achieve when they work as a team.

Goals: 3 C.Egan , 1 P.Flatman  , 1 J.Bugeja , 1 B.Simmons  , 1 F.Mitri
Best Players: J.Bugeja, T.pereira, T.Prigg, C.Watts, C.Egan, M.Cook

Rd 4 Under 10 Report,  Tulla 1.2-8 v Roxburgh Park 8.8-56

The Under 10's ventured out to Roxburgh Park for our last match before re-grading occurs. Roxburgh Park had also not won this season and so it as always expected to be a tough contest. Both teams were hard at it in the first quarter with the ball moving from centre half forward to centre half back with few scoring chances. Finally we broke through to register a behind and we led at quarter time. Roxburgh Park hit back in the second quarter to take a 2 goal lead into half time.

The second half saw the game get a bit tougher and a number of injuries were sustained by players putting their head over the ball. While Roxburgh Park managed to kick a few more goals we managed to score our first goal of the season through Ethan Augustus who also kicked his first goal in 3 years at the club!!

Injuries to Mark, Deia, Sophie and Jacob saw the bench working over time.

In the end Roxburgh Park were too good and our players found themselves distracted by the 'chatter' going on.

Captain - Riley Fiteni Vice-Captain - Sophie Kelly Goals: Ethan Augustus.

Best Players: Deia Llyod and Jackson Basaranowicz (both got their first kicks for the season), Sophie Kelly, Jack Skidmore and Josh Cowell
